THE CHALLENGE
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) cybersecurity division needed to raise awareness of its Secure by Design initiative and encourage technology manufacturers to prioritize security throughout product development. The challenge was to transform complex cybersecurity principles into engaging, accessible social media content that would resonate with both technical and general audiences, drive engagement, and promote adoption of security best practices.
THE APPROACH
As Lead Designer and Art Director, I established the creative direction and visual identity for a four-week social media campaign. I developed a cohesive series of graphics and motion graphics that transformed complex cybersecurity concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand visual stories. By combining bold typography, dynamic animation, and consistent branding with creative concepts inspired by current social media trends, I helped make Secure by Design messaging more approachable, relevant, and engaging. This approach allowed the campaign to capitalize on viral moments while maintaining CISA’s professional identity and reinforcing its cybersecurity awareness goals.
