I was brought in to lead the redesign of the FDIC Money Smart portal—a financial education platform offering free courses to help individuals of all ages improve their money management skills.

Collaborating closely with the FDIC team and developers, I created a clean, user-friendly interface that adhered to U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) standards, ensuring accessibility, consistency, and compliance across this federal .gov site.

Key contributions included:

• Redesigning the full web portal to improve navigation and overall user experience
• Designing a suite of custom icons to complement the FDIC’s recorded class series
• Incorporating the program’s main characters into the site experience to help guide and engage users
• Redesigning course completion certificates to better reflect the updated look and feel of the program

The final product elevated the Money Smart digital experience while maintaining brand recognition and accessibility, making it easier for users to access and complete financial literacy training.
