THE CHALLENGE
JCDC needed a visual identity that could represent its mission of uniting diverse cybersecurity partners to share threat intelligence and build a more resilient cyber ecosystem. The branding had to be bold, modern, and meaningful, balancing technical authority with collaborative spirit.
THE GOAL
Wanted to avoid the overused “government seal” look and instead create a distinctive brand that stood out from traditional federal agency visuals.
Sought a modern identity that would resonate not just within government, but also across the private sector and cybersecurity industry.
Needed a recognizable mark that could scale from formal government presentations to social media, swag, and partner events without losing impact.

Discovery & Strategy
I researched JCDC’s mission and audience, analyzed visual trends across federal and defense agencies, and identified opportunities to make JCDC stand out as a modern, collaborative cybersecurity leader.
VISUAL IDENTITY DESIGN
I created a shield-style logo using the JCDC acronym and built a color palette inspired by the infosec color wheel, drawing from purple, red, blue, and green teams to reflect the collaborative nature of cyber defense.
BRAND SYSTEM & GUIDELINES
I built a comprehensive style guide covering logo use, color palette, typography, templates, and SharePoint visuals to ensure consistency at scale.
